This series of circular artworks finds its roots in a mesmerising live performance by Roisin Murphy. Her boundless energy and infectious exuberance left an indelible mark on my creative psyche. Witnessing her onstage presence, with its myriad costume changes and seamless fusion of sound and visuals, was nothing short of transformative. As a woman of similar age, I found myself captivated by her fearless glamour and undeniable creative prowess. In particular, the lyrics of her song "The Time is Now" struck a chord with me, resonating deeply in the days and weeks that followed.
With her music playing on repeat, I delved into this series, each brushstroke infused with the same electrifying energy that Murphy radiated onstage. As her tracks played on loop in the background, I sought to capture not only the essence of her words but also her dynamic spirit… bold, forthright, confident and joyous.
