Own Art

Did you know you can purchase any original artwork today and pay in interest free instalments over 10 months?

Don't wait for One Day...

I often hear you says things like, one day I'll be able to own a piece of you art, and I want to say, "what are you waiting when you could be feeling better and enjoying the joy right now?!" It's like saving that dress that makes you feel a million dollars for the "special occasion" that seldom happens. Wear that dress as often as you can and find places to go! So that spirit I am offering the opportunity to buy my original artworks using the Own Art scheme

A modern living room with a white sofa, pillows, a glass coffee table, a floor lamp, and "The Dream Starts Here" original painting by Kate Mayer made with acrylic and spray paint on the wall.

Buy Now with Own Art

Own Art is a national initiative that makes buying contemporary art and craft affordable by providing interest-free credit for the purchase of original work.

03

Are you eligible?

Own Art is available to all permanent UK residents over the age of 18, subject to status.

This means that you must be able to meet one of the following criteria in order to apply for a loan:

  • Working at least 16 hours a week (employed or self-employed)
  • A retired person in receipt of a pension
  • A person in receipt of disability allowance

If you do not meet one of these criteria but are married to or living with a partner who does, then you may still apply provided that your partner is happy for their income details to be included on your application form.

How does it work?

Find a piece of art that lights up your soul… this is very important!

Once you've found the piece of work that you want to buy, just email us and let us know that you'd like to apply for Own Art to finance your purchase.

Loans are available from £100 - £2,500 and repayable in 10 monthly instalments. This can be used for the full cost of the painting or as part payment for pieces over £2,500.

If, for example, you chose to co-create a commission piece and the value is over £2,500. We will ask you to pay the difference as a deposit, and the balance would be paid over the following 10 months, interest free.

Bow Arts (the gallery that represents Kate Mayer) will take you through the loan application process, which normally takes about 10 minutes.

Once you've given all the information they need, you'll get an instant decision.

Once the agreement has been signed, the process is complete. You can take your artwork away there and then, or for online sales we will send you it to you straight away.

You will receive a welcome letter from our finance partner Novuna Consumer Finance and following this the 10 monthly payments will be collected from your account via direct debit.

This usually starts about four weeks after you have made your purchase. You can contact Novuna to change the payment date to one more convenient for you.
