Explore a series of original circular abstract paintings created by London artist Kate Mayer in response to bespoke vocal soundscapes by Tor Njamo.
Created especially for the Afterglow exhibition, the collaboration brings Tor’s voice, breath, visualisation, deep listening and fragments of Old Norse language into dialogue with Kate’s expressive colour, gesture and layered surfaces. The paintings explore three interconnected states: awe, stillness and connection.
Rather than illustrating the sound, Kate captures the emotional and physical state it creates within her. At once ethereal, grounding and expansive, each one-of-a-kind painting offers collectors an original contemporary artwork with a quiet yet powerful presence.
Created for spaces that need more than decoration, these sound-inspired abstract paintings invite the viewer to pause, look more closely and reconnect with a sense of stillness, wonder and possibility.
