I Wait With Good Intentions

Inspired by Heaven by Emeli Sandé, this original abstract painting by London artist Kate Mayer holds a deeply personal sense of awakening.

Kate discovered the song through her gospel choir in the early days following her divorce, when she was beginning the journey of rediscovering who she was. Its powerful blend of music and lyrics became inseparable from the emotions of that time—the vulnerability of starting again and the gradual awakening of a new self.

Painted while fully immersed in the song, every gesture and colour choice carries something of its emotional and vibrational energy. The result is a sound-led abstract painting that speaks of transformation, possibility and the courage to step into a new chapter.
