Afterglow

Afterglow is a collection of original circular abstract paintings by London artist Kate Mayer, created in response to music, spoken word and immersive sound. Rich in colour, movement and layered texture, each contemporary artwork captures the emotional trace of a fully felt experience: the energy, warmth and resonance that remain after the moment itself has passed.

Kate begins each painting in complete immersion, using sound to connect with the emotional state she wants to express. Through an intuitive process, tone, vibration and feeling are translated into colour, gesture and layered surfaces. The resulting works are designed not only to transform a space visually, but also to influence how it feels.
